Sheridan fisherman don't have to go far to sink their hooks into dinner, and next year is gearing up to be no exception. The Game and Fish Department recently reported they stocked the ponds at the Kleenburn Recreation Area, near Acme, with approximately 2,000 catfish. Information specialist, Warren Mischke, said the fish were planted in time to let them grow.
There aren't any fish hatcheries in Wyoming that grow fish classified as warm-water fish, so the state participates in a trade program.
The Kleenburn Ponds are also stocked with catchable rainbow trout, and also serve as a habitat for largemouth bass and a small population of crappies.
